I went looking for a theory I remembered reading about Fox Mulder, but instead I came across details from Mulder’s fictional bio that leapt out at me, starting with Mulder’s middle name: WILLIAM. Of course.
Fox WILLIAM Mulder was born on October 13th, which immediately makes me think of this:
On Friday the 13th of October, 1307, Grand Master Jacques de Molay of the Knights Templar, along with all locatable Templar Knights in France on that day, were arrested by Philip IV “the Fair” King of France. King Philip owed more money to the Templars than he could ever repay in his lifetime and he needed more.
I have mentioned the Killing of the King ritual and the significance of 11/22 as it relates to the assassination of JFK, so I wasn’t surprised to see ANOTHER scene in season 1 where the clock flips from 11:21 to 11:22 when Mulder calls. To reinforce this connection, Mulder is wearing a sports jersey at the beginning of season 2 with KING brazenly spelled out on his back.
What else does this make me think of? It makes me think of the address of the house where the murders in Moscow, Idaho, took place: 1122 King Road. Yeah, I think there’s something here, don’t you? But in case it’s not glaringly obvious, the bio goes even further by claiming Mulder’s first word was JFK and that he spoke this “word” at 11 months. No, I’m not making this up.
Going back to season 1, specifically episode THIRTEEN, Agent Scully loses her father, WILLIAM, in an episode that inverts the “skeptic” and “believer” roles between Scully and Mulder. While this episode brings in a killer (put behind bars by Mulder) with the last name BOGGS, it’s the character Garland BRIGGS–played by the same actor (Don Davis) in a DIFFERENT show–that caught my attention. Why? Because the show is Twin Peaks, created by David Lynch, who was born in Missoula, and Missoula is located in Western Montana, and it’s Western Montana where the fictional Briggs sees some shit in the sky:
In August 1979, while co-piloting an F4 Phantom over western Montana, Briggs and his pilot spotted a silvery, crescent-shaped craft. Briggs initially agreed with his pilot’s suggestion to not report it, feeling it would require too much paperwork and too many questions. However, he anonymously reported the sighting to the Mutual Unidentified Flying Object Network.
Going back to X-Files, where both Scully and Mulder have dads named WILLIAM, it’s William Mulder who I find quite fascinating, especially when I saw how his fictional character arc is mixed with real psychopaths, like Roy Cohn.
In the 1950s, William Mulder and men like him were instructed by the government to gather genetic data on the general populace for the purpose of post-apocalyptic identification, due to the threat of nuclear holocaust at that time. Mulder helped collect the data, so that former Nazi scientist Victor Klemper had access to a DNA database of nearly everyone who had been born since 1950, but Mulder strenuously objected once he realized that Klemper was using the medical data in an effort to create a human/alien hybrid. This work was officially known as Operation Paper Clip. (TXF: “Paper Clip”) Many names of doctors were connected to both William Mulder and the Cigarette Smoking Man; one of these doctors was Eugene Openshaw, a Nobel winner for early works in genetics. (TXF: “Two Fathers”)
While working at the State Department in 1952, Mulder learned that three patriotic veterans – Edward Skur, George Gissing and Terrill Oberman – had been working for the State Department when they had been transformed into something inhuman by a government conspiracy that included Roy Cohn and Senator Joseph McCarthy.
Ok, so how does Roy Cohn connect to the kind of bizarre nexus between reality and make-believe we have going on today in our national politics? Donald Trump, that’s how.
Maureen Dowd wrote in an article for The New York Times which described Matt Tyrnauer’s film Where’s My Roy Cohn?: “Roy Cohn understood the political value of wrapping himself in the flag. He made good copy. He knew how to manipulate the press and dictate stories to the New York tabloids. He surrounded himself with gorgeous women. There was always something of a nefarious nature going on. He was like a caged animal who would go after you the minute the cage door was opened.”
Several people have asserted that Cohn had considerable influence on the Presidency of Donald Trump, e.g. Ivy Meeropol, director of Bully, Coward, Victim: The Story of Roy Cohn said “Cohn really paved the way for Trump and set him up with the right people, introduced him to Paul Manafort and Roger Stone—the people who helped him get to the White House.”
Will Donald Trump “get to the White House” once the election smoke clears? I don’t know, but 11-5-2024 is exactly 69 years from the date seen in Back To The Future (11-5-1955), and anyone familiar with the concept of predictive programming knows Donald Trump has a very strange connection to that movie franchise.
I think that’s good for a Friday night.
